Consul General Moody's responsibilities include the Almaty, Zhambyl, South Kazakhstan, and Kyzylorda Oblasts. “It is a great honor to join the team at the Consulate General to serve on behalf of President Obama and the American people..

At the family-style dinner, guests will enjoy the opportunity to taste the best of African-American cuisine, meet Chef Holland, and have a chance to win one of her cook books..

    On May 20 - 23, the U.S. Consulate General hosted a U.S. historian Tim Naftali in Almaty. During his visit Dr. Naftali delivered two public lectures: “Soyuz: The Secret History of US-Soviet Collaboration for Victory in World War” at the Kasteyev Museum of Arts and “Kazakhstan in the mind of Cold War America” at the Almaty American Corner.

    April 11, 2015 marked the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Buchenwald concentration camp by U.S. forces. On that day, at the invitation of the Association of Prisoners of Fascism, we gathered at the eternal flame in Panfilov Park to honor former prisoners and remember those lost during the war. The survivors who told their stories on this anniversary are inspiration to all of humanity.

    March 20, the U.S. Consul General Theresa Grencik opened the ASM BioResource Center at the Kazakhstan National Medical University, a project funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control in partnership with the American Society for Microbiology (ASM). The ASM BioResource Center will provide Kazakhstan National Medical University important resources, including books, journals..

The purpose of the seminar is to stimulate entrepreneurial activity among disabled people by providing them with tools, tips, and information from the very best professionals in each area..

    “Break of Reality” and Galymzhan Moldanazar in Almaty

    As a part of its Kazakhstan tour the innovative American cello/drum rock ensemble “Break of Reality” performed in Almaty on February 28 and March 1, 2015 in Almaty. The band collaborated with Kazakh performing artist Galymzhan Moldanazar, a leading voice of contemporary music in Kazakhstan, cleverly combining Kazakh lyrics with electro-pop and synth-funk.

    Ambassador George A. Krol arrived in Astana on February 3, 2015. Ambassador Krol was sworn in as United States Ambassador to Kazakhstan on January 8th, and he looks forward to presenting his credentials to President Nazarbayev.
